Looking after yourself

Menopause encourages women to put themselves first. Most women know a lot about looking after themselves but may never have found time to put the advice into practice. This is a good time to start. Don’t try to change everything at once – it sets you up to fail and you will feel worse. If you have tried to tackle any of these issues before and found old habits dying very hard indeed, think about getting help:

- Ask a friend to bolster you

- Join a support group working on the same issue

- Ask a health professional to help you work out where to start and encourage you to carry on.
