Menopause is a good point to start laying the foundations for health in the second half of life. It can be a time when we look hard at our family inheritance or our friends and wonder about the risks of developing, for example, heart disease, osteoporosis or cancer. Self-care, however, is not just about efforts to prevent specific diseases; it is also about looking after our bodies so that we can continue to enjoy inhabiting them in ten, twenty or thirty years time.
